Description: The program's aim is to comprehensively prepare students to be employable in the widest array of security, loss prevention, safety positions common to the local market.

Core Courses:

Career Orientation: 6 Hours
Students will be familiarized with career paths in the field of private investigation, loss prevention and security, as well as growth, expansion and opportunities.

BST 1, 2: 64 Hours
This course satisfies the mandatory training requirements approved by Security Programs, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General's office. It is a Justice Institute of British Columbia course and a certificate is issued by them.

Principles of Loss Prevention: 35 Hours
This course explains the areas where losses occur as well as the prevention strategies, Powers of Arrest, suspect's rights, charter and caution, reports and documentation and attending court and giving evidence.

Fundamental Computer Skills: 50 Hours
This course covers Introduction to Windows XP, Microsoft Office applications including Word 2002 and Excel 2002, as well Internet

Professionalism in Proprietary Security: 30 Hours
This course teaches participants the skills to gain compliance through strategic communications, personal safety and control tactics, physical control tactics, restraining tactics, including handcuffing and pressure point control, as well as documentation.

Specialized Security - Casinos, Hotels and Events: 18 Hours
These components cover specialized areas of security and their requirements, including shopping centres, construction sites, hotels, hospitals, Mentally Disordered Offenders and Special Events security.

Court Procedures and Process Serving: 30 Hours
This course gives an overview of the Civil Law process in Canada, talks about serving of "Civil process", required documentation and affidavits. Attending Court will "tie in" theory.

Canadian Firearms Safety Training: 25 Hours
This course covers the evolution of firearms, major parts, types and actions, care, safety practices, storage, transportation and handling of firearms, as well as responsibilities of the owner/user.

Interviewing and Resume Writing Skills: 30 Hours
Orientation of job skills, training required in the new millennium, job interview skills, resume writing, covering letters, references.

OFA Level 3:   70 Hours
Course contents: Scene Assessment,. Primary, Secondary Survey, Vitals, History Taking, Soft Tissue Injuries, Burns Ligaments, Tendonw, Patient Packaging and Transport, Respiratory System, Airway, Head, Brain, Spinal, Strokes, Seizures, Pelvic an Abdominal Injuries, Upper and Lower Limb Fractures and Dislocations, etc.
